Word Sprints: Catch the Wind in Your Sails

Well, Bootcampers, I don't know about you, but I'm in need of a swift kick in the breeches. The last couple of weeks have becalmed me sailing vessel, as it were, and I'm feeling a bit marooned with me revisions. It's time to catch the wind in me sails again and I hope you'll join me!

Part of my plan to rejuvenate and get me sea legs back? Write/revise every day this week and moderate a couple of Word Sprints. Who needs a little extra push this week? Who's with me?

Word Sprints:

  • Tuesday, May 13 at 9 pm EDT
  • Thursday, May 15 at 9 pm EDT

Haul wind!

What's a Word Sprint?

During a Word Sprint, write as much as you can for one hour, then check in on Twitter to cheer on other writers and share how you did. You can write anything - poems, blog posts, novels - you name it.

How do I join?

Follow the YA Buccaneers on Twitter and let us know you'll be joining us in the comment below. Before you start writing, share a tweet or Facebook status update with your intention - your writing goal, what you're working on, whatever you like - and be sure to mention YA Buccaneers and the hashtag #YABWordSprint so we can connect with you. At the end of the Word Sprint, share your status.

What if I'm late, or need to leave early?

Start when you can, stop if you need to. For those who do start late or leave early, make sure to share a tweet or status update to let us know. As long as you *try* to write something during that time, it still counts!

Leave a comment below to let us know if you plan to join in and see you on the high seas!
