It’s week four of the YA Buccaneers’ Spring Writing Bootcamp 2015. Wait….week FOUR??? How did that happen? But yes, if you’ve been writing with us, it’s been one whole month of words, Instagram tours and Accountability teams. And so far, we hope things have gone well for you.
My goal this month was to finish up a “2nd” round of big revisions on my current WIP, and to send it out for another read. And two days ago, I did it! Now, I’m stuck with the task of whipping up a synopsis and a pitch for this thing. Wish me luck. This is my least favorite part of the whole writing process. So, that will be my goal for the upcoming week—to get a synopsis and pitch underway.
Having an accountability team is wonderful when you need to reach your goals. Rely on them, reach out to them, share your accomplishments and your struggles—trust me, they’re going through the same things, and it’s nice to have someone to talk with who understands. If you haven’t made much of a connection with them yet, this would be a great week to try. In month #2, we’ll have more challenges, so get those people on your side and earn some points for your team!
Let us know how you’ve done this week by leaving a comment below. You can also link to a blog or Facebook post where you’ve talked about your goals. Don’t forget to use the #SWB2015 hashtag so that everyone can find these posts and read about your progress. We want to be able to cheer you on! You’re doing great! Keep going…….
And stay tuned… we have plenty of surprises in store for the second month of the YAB Bootcamp!
