Contemporary YA with Great Portrayals of Relationships

Instead of recommending YA books about romantic love, we wanted to take a slightly different approach to our Reading Mutiny.

This month, our crew put together some stand out YA Contemporary reads that portray relationships really well. Not just romantic relationships, but relationships with parents, siblings, and friends. Since relationships can be healthy or unhealthy, good or not so good in real life, we chose a variety of books that do an excellent job showing the complexity of relationships.

Take a look at our picks & read to the end to share your suggestions!

Check out our picks of YA Contemporary Books with Great Portrayals of Relationships >>> Contemporary Young Adult fiction books that convey the complexity and depth of relationships in a stand out way. (Note: Not just romantic relationships, but parent-kid, siblings, best friends, friendships, romantic, mentor, platonic, etc.)

We hope you like the list, and if there's a book you'd like to add you can jump in the comments or add your vote on Goodreads

What do you think? Will you be picking one of these books this month, or is there a book you'd like to add?
