The finest crew to sail the seas of literary adventure!
Captain E. Hook
(a.k.a. Erin L. Schneider)
Home Port: Seattle, WA
Me heart may lie on the wild blue seas
Too bad me stomach disagrees
I'll always be searching for that treasure that's sunk
And hoping to find a swashbuckling hunk
One who shivers me timbers and offers a hand
When we're far out at sea, far away from dry land
We'll sail off in the sunset, like tales from a book
Because after all, I'm Captain E. Hook!
Erin is represented by Lisa Grubka of Fletcher & Company. Her YA Contemporary debut, SUMMER OF SLOANE, was published by Disney-Hyperion on May 3, 2016 and the paperback version will be released May 2, 2017.
Dread Pirate B.
(a.k.a. Bridgid Gallagher)
Home Port: Southeast UT
For the record, I have ten fingers, five on each side.
I prefer dueling with my wits over a sword. I consider masks to be high fashion, and I do believe that black will always be in style. Scaling cliffs may hold a dear place in my heart, but I'm up for any adventure - whether it's on high seas or deep in the pages of a good book.
(a.k.a. Stephanie Scott)
Home Port: Greater Chicago
Hailing from the land of the Great Lakes in a town called Kalamazoo where there are no zoos, Stephanie took up the quill to pen stories of adventurous lasses n’ lads. She sets her trade routes through Romance Writers of America and YARWA (say it like a pirate!) and helps writers prepare to walk the query plank in online pitch contests. She calls Sarah LaPolla from Bradford Lit her first mate, and her debut ALTERATIONS about a fashion-obsessed loner who reinvents herself will drop anchor in 2016 by Bloomsbury Spark.
Bonny Kitty Cutlass
(a.k.a. Kathryn Holmes)
Home Port: NYC area
Kathryn was born and raised in the landlocked state of Tennessee, but now makes port in Brooklyn, NY, with her husband and a treasure trove of books. She's represented by Alyssa Eisner Henkin at Trident Media Group, and her YA debut, THE DISTANCE BETWEEN LOST AND FOUND (HarperTeen) hits the high seas—and landlubbers' bookshelves—on February 17, 2015. When not writing, she's been known to reel and jig with the best of them as a contemporary dancer on stages across New York City.
(A.K.A. Patrice Caldwell)
Home Port: NYC
As an Aquarius, water has always been Patrice's natural element. She identifies as an introvert-gone-wild and is, at times, as whimsical as the sea itself. When not luring sailors to their watery ends (or rather, reading a good book on the beach) she writes genre-bending fiction for young adults and middle graders. Most of her stories feature life-changing secrets, forbidden friendships, and the coolest girls you'll ever meet. Patrice currently lives near the port city of Boston, MA, but soon she'll be sailing down the Atlantic to NYC, where she'll be working as an Editorial Assistant at Scholastic!
(a.k.a. G. Myrthil)
Home Port: Connecticut
Ahoy, me hearties! I hail from coastal Connecticut. (Aye, I’m a beach-lovin’ gal. All that’s missin’ is me own boat!) By day I work with little landlubbers at an elementary school, and by night I scribble stories for teenage lads and lasses. Way I see it, there's no greater treasure than a bloody good book. Yo ho, yo ho, a writer’s life for me!
Guppy Guts Skullcracker
(a.k.a. Heidi Sinnett)
Home Port: Ontario, Canada
Some may shout I was born on th' briny deck 'o a scurvy pirate ship amid 40 foot waves. Truth be that I hail from th' cold north, wit' ne'er a sea to be found on either shore 'o Ontario.
Me days be spent carousin' th' shelves 'o me local book depository, 'n me nights be full 'o gettin' me swashbucklin' adventures down on paper. None better'n th' Stringer Literary Agency 'n th' lovely Marlene Stringer to spy wit' me through to me goals 'o havin' me tome bound 'n sold to bands 'o pirates that can read.
As me fair mum tol' me: Be who ye arghhhhh! A writer I be!
Jas Ketch, Siren of the Seychelles
(a.k.a. Kris F. Oliver)
Home Port: Sarasota, FL
When she’s not luring unsuspecting sailors on th’rocks with her dubious ways, this pirate lass be navigating her small crafts ‘round the sandy coves and briny bays of Florida. When the tide’s out, she spends her lantern hours scribbling down tall tales with a nib made from a frigate feather. When the ink’s run out, there’s still time for carousin’, keelhaulin’ the landlubbers and the odd nipperkin.
(A.K.A. KELLY DEVOS)
HOME PORT: Gilbert, AZ
Dead men really do tell tales and when they do I write them down! Be properly warned: In my YA contemporaries and YA mysteries, me hearties survive scurvy scum, fight villainous scoundrels and chart their course through the stormy seas of high school. While I may be a landlocked landlubber in Gilbert, Arizona my heart belongs to the cool waters of the Pacific. My enemies get the sword, my crew gets hand knit hats and socks. My only regret is that there’s no wifi or Netflix on the Brig.
Kathleen Rushall of the Marsal Lyon Literary Agency is my Cap’n.

Past pirates who were treasured members of our crew - they might be back, so keep an eye out!
Our crew wouldn't be complete without:
Scullywags The Macaw
Home Port: Aboard the YAB Pirate Ship, perched happily on the Dread Pirate B.'s shoulder.
Scullywags isn't friendly. You'll want to watch your fingers around this one.
Jynx The One-Eyed Rat
Home Port: Scurrying about the YAB Pirate Ship
Jynx is a punk. He's like a sullen teenager stuck in the body of a rat.
Gandalf The Great White
Home Port: Swimming in the waters wherever the YAB Pirate Ship may journey!
Gandalf likes to eat people. Mostly fish, but people too. (Just thought we should warn you.)
Leonardo di Lemur
Home Port: Preferably on the shoulder of Jas Ketch, aboard the YAB Pirate Ship!
Leonardo is suave and sophisticated. He also has a thing for mustachioed ladies.
Annabelle the Kraken
Home Port: EVERYWHERE
Annabelle made a deal with the crew: If she doesn't eat us, she can tag along on our adventures. Any other pirate ships are fair game for her.
